Nature photography with the LM macroscope: Wasp's nest
Wasp nests are fascinating structures. We took a closer look at such a structure. This photo shows very clearly what material the nest is made of. The building material is exclusively chewed wood, i.e. a mixture of saliva and wood that is similar to paper. Anyone who has ever held such a nest in their hands knows: it's light as a feather!
With the LM macroscope with integrated plan achromatic tube optics, such photos can be taken in next to no time. The stand can also be equipped with a motorized Stackshot slide. This slide enables the modern focus stacking technology to be carried out automatically via the PC using the Helicon software.
