Display high-resolution live images in 8K UHD on a large external monitor with the Sony A7R mirrorless system camera

8K monitor with live image display via HDMI, the best cameras on the microscope

Sony’s A7RV comes packed with a powerful 61-megapixel full-frame sensor, creating images and videos that stand out for their superb colour rendition and an amazing level of detail. Its large full-frame sensor features a wide dynamic range and is exceptionally light sensitive.

Normal microscope C-mount cameras typically manage to relay live images to a monitor or computer in HD quality at best, often leaving much to be desired in terms of image quality. This can be particularly problematic for presentations, group discussions or lectures, where there is often a need for higher levels of image quality.

Featuring cutting-edge camera technology, the A7RV is able to capture more image details. It can be connected directly to an external high-resolution monitor with just a simple HDMI cable. The camera features an HDMI interface (type A) that can output the full colour depth captured by the camera sensor (16-bit raw) to an external monitor or recorder

The A7RV features one of the worldwide leading image sensors, which enables unprecedented advances in dynamic range and light sensitivity. This outstanding level of image quality allows for nearly lossless transfer of image information to an external monitor.

The Sony A7RV can be attached to a wide range of microscopes with our LM digital adapters, which feature an integrated optical element. If your microscope doesn’t have a dedicated phototube, we offer an equally capable adapter solution for the eyepiece tube.

Another option is to control the camera remotely from a computer (PC or Mac) through a wired connection using a USB cable. With Sony’s Imaging Edge software, the camera can be fully controlled remotely in Live View.
