The low-cost AmScope T610D-IPL microscope is a great fit for contemporary camera systems – thanks to our LM adapter solutions, which feature integrated precision optics
The AmScope laboratory microscope is not limited to just microscope cameras. Mirrorless system cameras, along with specialised camera systems, are ideal for capturing high-quality images and can be attached to the T610D-IPL using our LM adapter solutions.
The AmScope T610 is a modern upright laboratory microscope with a dedicated photo port. As a set with a trinocular head and four infinity plan objectives, it comes with a price tag of around € 1,200
AmScope’s T610 series of microscopes was introduced to the market in 2015. The transmitted light microscope, designed for brightfield imaging, is a versatile tool for teaching and general applications in the fields of biology, medicine, material analysis and research.
Key specifications and characteristics of the AmScope T610D-IPL:
• Infinity-corrected upright laboratory microscope offering a good price-performance ratio
• Infinity plan objectives 4x, 10x, 40x, 100x (oil)
• Reverse quadruple lens turret with M20 mounting thread
• 10x/22 standard eyepieces, optional eyepieces: 20x, 25x and 30x; eyepiece tube with 23.2 mm internal diameter and 30 degree viewing angle
• Trinocular head
• Standard phototube with 23.2 mm internal diameter
• Transmitted illumination: 3W LED continuous adjustment
• Koehler illumination system
The T610D-IP has an infinity-corrected optical system and comes with four infinity plan objectives (4x, 10x, 40x, 10x). Combined with the 10x/22 eyepieces that come with the standard version of the microscope, the total magnification range is 40x to 1000x.
Although a version with an integrated 18 MP digital camera is also available (AmScope T610D-IPL-18M3), we recommend using the microscope with high-performance camera systems to obtain better image and video quality. With our LM microscope adapters, an extensive range of digital cameras, such as conventional DSLR cameras, mirrorless system cameras and hybrid cameras, C-mount microscope cameras, C-mount industrial cameras or high-speed cameras, can be attached to the microscope. Our LM microscope adapters are quality products, developed and manufactured in Austria. The adapter solution is equipped with an integrated optical system for optimising the field of view, which facilitates the best possible image quality.
The phototube has an internal diameter of 23.2 mm. This standard dimension is a perfect fit for our LMscope adapters, which are equipped with an integrated precision optical system. Our adapter systems are optimised for the sensor size of the respective camera, delivering the best imaging quality possible.
As an alternative to using the phototube, the camera can also be attached to the eyepiece tube of the microscope. To attach the camera, one eyepiece is removed and the camera-adapter combination is put into its place. Because the microscope adapter features a sturdy, mechanically robust design, it is capable of bearing the weight of heavy cameras without any problems. This adapter version also delivers very good image results and offers great flexibility because it can be used on many different microscopes.

Modern DSLR and single-lens mirrorless (DSLM) offer the latest technology and are generally very well suited for microscopy applications. Most of them can be controlled remotely via PC/Mac. Because of their high sales volumes, they offer an excellent price/performance ratio compared to special-purpose microscope cameras.
Features of top DSLR and single-lens mirrorless cameras (DSLM):
- Large, powerful full-frame sensors (36 x 24 mm)
- Sensor resolution of 61 megapixels or 240 megapixels with Pixel Shift technology
- High light sensitivity (ISO 400,000+)
- Extensive dynamic range (up to 15 aperture stops/f-stops)
- Short exposure times (1/8000 second) up to 1/32,000 seconds using the digital shutter
- 4K Ultra HD or 8K Ultra HD video function
- Live video capture on external monitors in ultra HD quality
In most cases, these cameras are significantly more powerful than microscope cameras with smaller sensors (1/2" or 2/3"). On our website you will find our current camera recommendations and a camera ranking which is specifically tailored to microscopy applications.
